Introducing the new CIG e-forums!
We are very excited to announce a brand new kind of event - the CIG e-forum!
We all know these are difficult financial times, so the CIG e-forums aim to provide valuable, informal and informative professional development opportunities. You can participate from the comfort of your own home or desk, completely free of charge. The CIG e-forums are open to anyone, not only to CIG or CILIP members, providing an excellent chance to network with other people interested in the same issues, whatever sector they work in and wherever in the world they are based. We welcome everyone to the discussion.
So what exactly is a CIG -eforum? A CIG e-forum is a two-day, moderated & facilitated
electronic discussion forum providing an opportunity for librarians and
information staff to discuss specific topics of relevance to knowledge
organisation, metadata, etc. The e-forum discussion list works like an email
discussion list: register your email address with the list, and then you will
receive messages and communicate with other participants through an email
discussion. These discussions are free of charge and available to anyone who
wishes to subscribe to the list (see below for instructions on how to subscribe).
We plan to make these regular events in the CIG calendar and hope you will join us. Our first CIG e-forum will take place next month on the topic of RDA, so look out for the full announcement about this next week! We look forward to seeing many of you in that discussion.
