Hollywood Librarian!
A brilliant idea - a film made up of movie clips portraying fictional librarians alongside interviews with real librarians - given its screen debut (to great acclaim) in North America a few months ago. See http://www.hollywoodlibrarian.com/. for details.
And now - Hollywood Librarian gets its first UK screening, courtesy of the Sussex Sub-Branch of CILIP, on Monday evening (the 25th) at the University of Sussex in Brighton. Curtain up at 7.00pm in Arts A2 Lecture Theatre. As an added attraction there'll be a Panel session after the screening involving, amongst others, Ann Seidl who is the creative force behind the movie.
From Katharine Hepburn as Bunny Watson in Desk Set (Twentieth Century Fox, 1957) to modern-day issues around the Patriot Act and the National Library of Iraq - sounds good to me! I'll be at the screening so see you there if you can get there. If you can't - well, I'll tell you all about it next week.
