Hi there 

My name is Lyndsay Rees-Jones and I am a Senior Adviser, Membership Support Unit (MSU) at CILIP which is the UK based professional body for library and information professionals.  I've been a member since my student days and have also been working for the Institute since the late 1990s.  Our focus is on developing a strong professional community, so MSU cover lots of stuff including:

  • Strengthening the relationship between CILIP's Branches and SiGs (Special Interest Groups) and CILIP Ridgmount Street
  • Careers and CPD
  • Relationship management
  • Life and Work Survey
  • Developing a Network of Expertise and Interest
  • CILIP Communities - online community development - and integration with face-to-face activity
  • Advocacy tools for members to advocate personally and professionally
  • LIBEX - international library exchange programme

I want to use this blog to chat about issues relating to professional and personal advocacy for librarians/information professionals.   And any other stuff that captures my imagination....
