Brian Ashley retires from Arts Council England

Brian Ashley is retiring from his role of Director (Libraries) at Arts Council England in September 2017 and recruitment for a replacement will take place during the autumn. Interim cover will be provided by Paul Bristow (Director, Strategic Partnerships), who is familiar with the work of libraries and their partners through his work at the Arts Council and at the MLA, and Sophie Lancaster (Senior Manager, Libraries). Brian has been a member of CILIP since 1980 and before joining the Arts Council worked for Nottingham, Warwickshire, Coventry and Northamptonshire Libraries, as well as at MLA.
